Frequently asked questions

Quick answers for families getting started. Can’t find what you need? Give us a call.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can contact us directly to book. If your child has a GP Chronic Disease Management plan or NDIS funding, we’ll explain what paperwork we need.

What ages do you see?

We see children and teenagers from birth to 18 years.

Are you a registered NDIS provider?

Yes. We work with NDIA-managed, plan-managed and self-managed participants.

Can I claim through Medicare or private health?

Medicare rebates may apply with a GP plan, and many private health funds cover speech pathology. Check your level of cover with your fund.

Where do sessions happen?

At our Jolimont and Victoria Park clinics, at home, at school or day care, or by telehealth.

What happens at the first appointment?

Your therapist will chat with you about your concerns, play with your child, and complete an assessment. You’ll leave with next steps and a plan.

How long are sessions?

Most sessions are 45 to 60 minutes. Your therapist will recommend how often based on your child’s goals.

Do you see children with a diagnosis?

Yes. As well as speech and language difficulties, we see children with diagnoses including global developmental delay, autism, ADHD, and deafness or hearing loss.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes. Many sessions, and parent consultations, can be done by telehealth.

Can therapy happen at my child's school or day care?

Yes. We visit schools and day cares, and can share goals with teachers and educators when that helps.

Can you help with a Language Development Centre application?

Yes. We complete assessments for Language Development Centre (LDC) applications.

Do you do autism assessments?

We complete the speech pathology part of a WA autism diagnosis, using the ADOS-2. A paediatrician and psychologist complete the other parts.

Do you help with feeding for babies?

We see children from 9 months old for solid foods. We don't offer bottle or breastfeeding support.

What are your opening hours?

Both clinics are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.

How much does it cost?

Fees depend on the service. Call us on 0416 691 933 for current fees.

Is there a wait list?

Sometimes. It depends on the therapist and the days and times you need. We'll let you know the likely wait when you get in touch, and a parent consultation can give you strategies to use in the meantime.
